whats good man , it’s deathofpedro
How did you get the name "DeathOfPedro" ?
Pedro came from my homeboys after i told em i wanted to learn spanish back in the 7th grade cause they thought it was funny. I fucked with the name so i stuck with it. “deathofpedro” was my producer name when i was making beats cause all my beats was dark.. I started rapping on my own beats & kept the name as my artist name.
How did you begin rapping? Was there anything that really convicnced you to start?
I wanted to start rapping because i watched my older brotha do it. He used to take me to the stu every time he went. I was fucking with it heavy so I copped a laptop & started learning everything i needed to start cause I wasn’t finna pay for no damn studio time.
To add, what about inspirations? Do you have any and why?
What really inspire me was the need to do it. I always love music & I listen to all types of music so i gained many different types of vibes. It was just an inner thing I can’t explain. Plus i wanted to put out shit I wanted to listen to .. got tired of listening to fuu ass niggas.
I know you may have people you look up too. But how do you seperate yourselves from others in chicago and make your own sound?
I think it’s because i try to have fun when i make my music. Like I’m looking up to niggas like Comethazine & Ugly God, but at the same time Sosa my favorite rapper. So of course Im mixing all that together to create some different but i make sure it’s still what people want to hear.
To add. What mood or space do you have to be in to record? Do you prefer by yourself or with others watching?
I love being by myself the most. I can sit & focus more. Usually with people around I waste more time then I normally would recording. But i still do what i got to do especially if I spark up.
When it comes to choosing beats. What do you usually look for and why?
I look for the hard no melody beats. Mainly because i have a deep, raspy voice so it’s hard for me to raise it over high melody beats.
Are there any producers that you plan or want to work with in the future? And why?
I don’t really look for producers or even artists to work with. That’s mainly because I have a team with talented people. So when it comes to producers , I stick with Kass & myself.
About the future. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Hopefully Ima be up already. Going Krazy! Still with the same people I’m trying to come up with now. Like i told myself before , if this rap shit ain’t going nowhere by December, Im dropping it completely.
Also. In 5 years do you think you will be in FIRSTPLACE?
I’m already in FIRSTPLACE! For real man.
